Tarah switched from Merry Moppets to a Montessori Preschool before she turned three. She was the youngest child there by over a year. While in school, Montessori taught her to sound out words and read, plus continued her math and computer work.  Two days after her third birthday, she learned to swim (at the public high school pool where her dad took her for lessons).  She was learning vocal music rapidly and already had an extensive repertoire.  With her love for animals, Tarah’s hobbies included playing with her plush white Angora kitty, Ivan, and the plethora of other pets at home.  She also enjoyed riding and feeding the thirty seven beautiful Pure-Bred Arabian horses her mom and dad owned on the family’s five acre parcel in the southern Phoenix valley.  It was a tradition for Tarah and her family to feed and water the horses together each evening, followed by a stop on the way home for ‘Mint n’ Chip’ ice cream as a tasty treat...her favorite!

Tarah went to a pre-kindergarten summer school come June.  In one of her courses, Reading with Phonics, she scored in the highest category of achievement possible on the standardized testing.  Most of the class was composed of seven-year-olds, but Tarah was not yet even four.  She could now read over 150 words and verbally spell many more.  Also, she could do simple math and recognize all fifty state on the map.  Her dad had done both the Doman Reading and Doman Math programs with her this year... an acclaimed method of education using flash cards and visuals that teach valuable learning tools to youngsters before time-sensitive channels in the mind close.  With this preparation, Tarah entered New Vista private school in the fall as a barely turned four-year-old, and by the end of the year was completing first and second grade workbooks.  She began to join her mom on daily two mile walks for exercise, although a bit too witty for her own good she would often get herself  lost in a hurry to run ahead and complete the task early. More often than not, she would loose her mom in the process with her idea of a shorter route back home.
